MaskScreen: A Fusion of Mask and Screen

In a state of wearing a mask, eating seems impossible, yet the served mask reveals various 'eating scenes' projected onto it.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, where wearing masks has become a daily norm worldwide, the artist is intrigued by the sense of distance in communication brought about by masks. While the faces of those we meet in person are obscured by masks, rendering them unseen, there's a strange sense of closeness when interacting with individuals online, despite their physical absence. This paradox brought about by masks is depicted in the artwork of 'Eating While Wearing a Mask,' exploring the complexities of human connection in a masked world.

マスクをした状態では食事は取れないが、サーヴされたマスクには様々な"食べるシーン"が映し出される。

コロナ禍で世界中の人々がマスクをすることが日常となった期間、作家はマスクがもたらした人とのコミュニケーションの距離感に関心を抱く。直接会う人の顔はマスクに覆われ見ることは出来ないが、オンラインで会う人の顔は見ることはでき、そばに居なくとも不思議と親近感が湧くいった矛盾を感じる。

マスクがもたらした矛盾を、マスクをした状態で食べるという作品に表現している。
